Duncan Shimmin, Senior Private Banker, has over 20 years experience of advising high net worth individuals, focussing on Wealth Management and Financial Planning. He is both a Certified and a Chartered Financial Planner.

The Edinburgh office is fronted by Senior Private Bankers Mike Smith and Chris Thomson, who are assisted by James Burley.
Mike Smith has been providing investment and financial advice to international private clients for over 20 years. American born, Mike worked for the Citibank Private Bank and Smith Barney in Washington DC for 15 years before joining Merrill Lynch International Bank in London and Edinburgh in 1998. Following Merrill Lynch, Mike founded and managed the Kleinwort Benson Private Bank operation in Scotland, before joining SGPB Hambros in October of 2008.
Chris also joined SGPB Hambros from Kleinwort Benson where he worked alongside Mike Smith to build up a portfolio of loyal clients. Prior to this, Chris spent twelve years in investment banking Split between New York and London. He has held various Capital Markets positions with Barclays Capital and Toronto Dominion Securities. In 2004 he returned to his native Edinburgh and moved into the world of private banking where he now helps a number of successful individuals, trusts and charities to fulfil their financial aspirations.

Bev Smalley, Senior Private Banker has a strong presence in Yorkshire, having worked within private banking in Leeds for over 20 years. He was the Regional Manager at Coutts & Co in Leeds. He also was an Associate Director at Merrill Lynch.
Christopher Perkins, Senior Private Banker has several years experience working with high net worth individuals in the Leeds area, having previously worked for Merrill Lynch International Bank as Vice President in the International Private Client Group in Leeds and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
