Hambros Bank set up the private banking operation in both Jersey and Guernsey in June 1967.  Société Générale acquired Hambros Bank in 1998.

 Richard Olliver - Chief Executive Officer (Channel Islands)

Richard Olliver was appointed chief executive of SGPB Hambros in the Channel Islands in 2001. His role encompasses the management of the SGPB Hambros Guernsey and Jersey offices with particular responsibilities for overseeing the implementation of Group business strategy locally as well as ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Richard began his banking career in 1969 at NatWest in the UK. He moved to the NatWest Guernsey office in 1974 as manager’s assistant continuing in the same role when he joined Hambros Bank in Guernsey in 1978. He became a director in 1986 before being appointed managing director of the Guernsey office in 1991. Richard became managing director of SGPB Hambros in Jersey in 2001 in the combined role of chief executive of SGPB Hambros in the Channel Islands.
